FIFPro Announces World Player of the Year and World XI of the Year
KAKA wins FIFPro WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR

  Kakŕ has been voted the FIFPro World Player of the Year by 5,.500 football players associated at the FIFPro Federation International des Footballeurs.

  The award ceremony took place this moning at the AC Milan's Milanello Training Complex, Italy The FIFPro World Player of the Year and the FIFPro World XI will be announced Friday 5th October at 2pm. During the course of the last few months, more than 45,000 professional footballers throughout the world were invited by FIFPro to cast their vote.

   From the shortlist of five goalkeepers, twenty defenders, fifteen midfielders and fifteen strikers will ultimately emerge the FIFPro World XI 2006-2007 and the FIFPro World Player of the Year.
